"THERE IS NO FENCE" ~BEYOND ROBERT FROST

DailyPost promt Fence 6/26/2016

As we walked Robert Frost's farm I had a profound sense of connection to the beauty of mother nature.

I could see by today's standard measurement of success, that this humble farm could be mistaken as "unsuccessful" due to its simplicity.

Even at the turn of the century, Frost's success was questionable in the 1900's when he turned to farming in NH, turning his gaze to nature.
His epic poem, "Mending Fences," never came to mind as we walked the parameter of his beautiful property.

One could imagine a white picket fence, due to the serene  setting and peace that surrounded you.
No fence, no boundaries were visible, as peace united flora and fauna.
The constant babbling of the brook's song to the dandelion's wishes, freed on the breeze.

This progressive thinker could not convince his neighbor that the Stonewall was not needed to keep the Pine-tree's away from the cows or the cows from eating his trees.
Robert Frost writings often reflects his fondness of this decade filled  with the simplest of times.
His subsequent writings remind us all to be content, rest and enJOY our simple times.

They just may contain the proverbial white picket fence surrounding your home and family seen or unseen. "There is no fence" that can contain happiness.

Less is more!

Empty  ~ Less is More
It is hard to write about the value of letting go of this for that in order to remain an empty vessel for life's experiences and lessons.
It is even harder not quote the  sage wisdom on the philosophy and value of emptiness. For it has all been said 10,001 times before.

A Zen proverb says,"knowledge is learning something new every day. Wisdom is letting go of something every day".

Henry David Thoreau said,  "When any real progress is made we unlearn and learn anew something we thought we knew before."

"The Power of Weee" says:
"Every step of the way challenges you to let go of what you believe, forget how you perceive and redefine what it is to achieve.
You must unlearn much of what you have been taught.
Return to innocence.
Look at everything in the world as brand-new, as if never seen it before.
Forget what you think you know and trust your gut instinct, intuition and Spirit guided thought.
Release what is not yours.
Forster apathetic disassociation an attachment to those things you cannot change.
Have confidence in the fact that less is more. Let go of the world of form and ego."

Natural Companions by "Simply Cathryn"

Companion planting provides us with yet another opportunity to learn from Mother Earth. As any chef knows, there are natural pairings that complement our morsels and tickle our fancies through our palate. Tomatoes and their affinity for basil is a classic example of these natural pairings or companions.

Our Heirloom Tomato Garden
The farmers almanac has been teaching us since 1792 the benefits of vegetable gardening with companion planting. Sustainable organic farmers know the value of companion planting in ways that plants can support one another and protect from unwanted "pests".  Just as tomato and basil compliment one another on the plate, they are companion plants in the garden. Another fine example is the Sage's  wisdom of Sage scattered about in our garden Cabbage Patch.

Just as plants have to be able to survive with one another in order to thrive so must we. Finding a companion that "plays well with you in the sandbox" helps develop strong roots that lead to deeper intimacy. French intensive gardening also reflects the sweetness of proper pairings that support and complement one another even in close quarters.

A well matched companion is a complement and support to one another allowing each growing season to individually reach their zenith.  Another match made in heaven, is The example of bread and butter, hence the French root word "companio" or "copain" which literally says that companion comes from the translation ..."with and bread".
