In USA TODAY an article
said:
"83% of adults
drink coffee!"
"More than a caffeine jolt,
coffee is a $30 billion-a-year national industry, a foodie fixation, affordable luxury,
with a boost of disease-fighting antioxidants." Todd Plitt
In my last and final writing on what
some may find as a jittery fixation on this
cuppa
of joe,
this is dedicated to the other 83% …
I'd be remiss if I did not address
How to coax every good to the last drop out of every bean!
After burning out my expresso machine
from a decade of daily pressing and tapping,
I have evolved!
As I save pennies for an official expresso home station, here are a few of my favorite ways to lovingly coax the most from our organic beans.
Here's for your consideration!
Weee use a French press for hot cup
of morning brew.
A cold brew awaits in the
refrigerator for a second cup for afternoon time ceremony!
Why Use a French Press?
My French press makes the best
coffee.
Coffee beans contain oils, in other
words like most favorite foods the oils is where the flavor is!
Conventional brewing uses paper
filters, where the oils end up being absorbed!
This leaves the flavor in the filter
paper not your cup!
Also my French press allows for time
for steeping.
When you get a good cup of tea, you
use bulk tea that steeps for several minutes depending on the type of tea.
The same is true for coffee through a
French press.
It even develops my favorite "crema."
I know it's as good as it gets when
Crema is forming its foam on the top.
This creamy cream is the flavorful,
aromatic, reddish-brown froth that rests on top of a well-made cup of brew.
I’d be remiss not to honorably mention this affordable, Classic Stovetop Espresso brewer. We have all seen this little beaut and I have used ‘in the day’ when camping. I wish it was not made from aluminum, but I digress… Many rely upon this Italian and Cuban CafĂ©, Latte, Greca Coffee Maker!
Studies show:
Caffeine "may"
reduce the risk of developing Dementia and Alzheimer’s, with the chlorogenic acid lactones
and lipophilic antioxidants found which is preserved in French press coffee!
This paragraph is brought to you by,
Goggle University:
"according to a study published
in Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry.
So the double whammy of high caffeine
content + the presence of important antioxidants
(that are filtered out during other
brewing methods)
makes French press coffee an
important ally in protecting your neurological health.
Another benefit is the existence of
Methylpyridinium—a compound found in liberal amounts in coffee.
compounds can help reduce the risks
of certain cancers, including oral, pharyngeal and esophageal cancers."

CHOOSING COLD BREW
One of the major differences between cold brew and regular coffee is their
respective levels of acidity.
As a result of brewing at lower
temperatures the acids found in cold brew is significantly less in acidity.
This results in a smoother, milder,
almost sweeter flavor and helpful for digestibility.
As a medicine women concluding this 101 class on my favorite beans I would encourage you to look at the benefits of a daily serving of this antioxidant in a cup! (Or 2) like lowering risk of Cardiovascular diseases and heart disease.
Savor the day in a new organic way. With gratitude, greet each day with an awareness that this is a ritual!
